13th Annual Dragon Boat Race Festival July 15 & 16, 2011 Our Mission The Dragon Boat Festival is a summer paddlesport event that promotes healthy lifestyles, fosters team building, and gives corporations, organizations and families an opportunity to develop community leadership. Collectively we enrich the quality of life for the citizens of Thunder Bay and region. Festival Partners In its 13th Year the Festival is managed and organized by the Lakehead Canoe Club (LCC), which operates the Regional Paddlesport Centre, on Boulevard Lake. The LCC has been active at the event since its inception. The LCC continues to support three worthy charities: the Canadian Mental Health Association Thunder Bay, Catholic Family Development Centre of Thunder Bay and St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay. | | | |  | St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay St. Joseph's Foundation was established to support the work of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie. The work of the Sisters is largely directed in support of the St. Joseph's Care Group. The St. Joseph's Care Group provides compassionate and holistic care and services to the people of Northwestern Ontario. Programs and services include: physical, mental health, addictions and psychiatric rehabilitation, behavioural sciences, complex care, long term care, and supportive housing to meet the needs of the people in the Districts of Thunder Bay and Kenora-Rainy River. | | | |  | Catholic Family Development Centre of Thunder Bay The Catholic Family Development Centre is a not-for-profit, nondenominational family service agency and has been serving the community of Thunder Bay since 1979. The Centre is dedicated to strengthening and empowering families and individuals through professional counselling and educational services within a respectful and caring environment. | | | |  | Canadian Mental Health Association, Thunder Bay Canadian Mental Health Association, Thunder Bay is committed to supporting individual recovery and promoting mental wellness within families and communities. The mission is accomplished through participation of individuals living with mental illness, clinical and rehabilitation services, public education, social change and advocacy, and community collaboration. | Your hard work and support of the Festival will help: - Canadian Mental Health Association provides programs and services to over 450 individuals challenged with mental illness helping them with independent living in our community.
- Catholic Family Development Centre support close to 1,500 men, women and children who use the counselling and education groups throughout the year.
- St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay purchase capital equipment for the comfort and safety of the clients of St. Joseph's Care Group.
