Q: How old do you need to be to be on the team? A: The minimum age is 16 years old by the time of your first practice. Q: What if I only have 17 people ready to paddle? A: The boat can be paddled with 16 paddlers minimum and 20 paddlers maximum. Q: Can I change our team's name? A: Yes, but only up until July 1st as we would like to get team names to media and festival race committee. Q: Can the festival provide us a steersperson and a drummer? A: YES, the festival can provide you with a Steersperson and a Drummer. Let the coaches know at your first practice and this will be organized! We can work towards certification of your own steersperson if you like. Just let the coach know! Q: What if everyone cannot come to the practices? A: Not a problem. We would like to see as many paddlers as possible come to the practice. This way your team gets practice as a crew. Some paddlers that cannot make their own team's practices join another team short of paddlers. Q: How many female paddlers do I need in my mixed crew? A: The rules and regulations state that EIGHT women paddlers must be in a mixed crew. The LCC will be strictly adhering to this rule. Q: Can I paddle on a women's crew and a mixed crew at the festival this year? A: YES, this is new to the festival. You can paddle single gender (meaning mens or womens) and then paddle in the mixed division also. We are excited about giving people the opportunity to paddle with different genders this year. Q: Can I paddle on two different mixed crews? A: No, as in the past you can only paddle with one mixed crew regardless of competitive level. Q: Do I need to have my money in by the deadlines? A: Yes. You will not be racing on the Saturday if your $$ is not in to HSBC Bank Canada by Friday evening at 5:00 pm. Q: When and where can I set up my tent in tent city? A: Set up time will be determined by our Mayor of Tent City. She will be organizing your location based on how much $$ your crew has fundraised and also by when you registered. Remember to not place your tent in the walkways that will be spray painted off. Q: Garbage Bags & Recycling Bags? A: The team members can help the festival this year bagging all garbage and recycling items. We are hoping to have bags delivered to each team tent to assist you with this. Q: How do I make a suggestion for next year? A: You can access the Web site under contact us to make your suggestion. Q: How do I sign up for next year's race?
